Kadima Construction is a full-service remodeling contractor working across the New York metro. We handle the whole job, demolition through final walk-through, so you are not coordinating four different trades yourself.
Our most requested work. Full gut renovations, walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions, vanity and tile installation, and small-bathroom layouts that have to earn every inch. Demolition through finish work runs as one managed scope with one point of contact.
Cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, lighting, and flooring coordinated as a single build. We work with your layout or reconfigure it, including relocating plumbing and electrical where the building allows.
Whole-house and multi-room renovations where the trades have to be sequenced properly to hold a schedule. This is where our process matters most: one crew lead, one timeline, one point of contact.
Finishing unfinished space into living area, guest suites, or in-law arrangements. Framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, and egress-aware layouts.
Ceramic, porcelain, and mosaic tile for bathrooms, kitchen backsplashes, and floors. Layout and waterproofing are set before the first tile goes down, because that is what determines whether the finish lasts.
Hardwood, engineered wood, and vinyl plank, installed as a standalone job or as part of a larger renovation. Subfloor preparation is included in every scope.
Drywall hanging, taping, patching, and interior painting. Dust containment is set up before demolition starts, not after the mess exists.
Crown molding, baseboards, door and window installation, built-in shelving, and closet systems. Finish carpentry is the work most visible when a project is done.
Kadima Construction started in 2019, and the reason was straightforward: too many renovations go wrong not because someone lacks skill, but because nobody is accountable for the whole job. A homeowner ends up holding four phone numbers and mediating between trades who each blame the one before them.
Hector and Mario Bocel had spent eight years in the trade before starting the company, long enough to learn which promises actually get kept. They had watched completion dates slip because nobody owned them, and watched families live around dust for weeks because cleaning up was treated as the last task instead of a daily one. Kadima was built to do the opposite on both counts: one crew lead who owns the outcome, a schedule set before demolition rather than discovered during it, and a jobsite you can live alongside.
That is still how the company runs. Both owners are involved in the work rather than only in the sales conversation, and the standard the crew is held to is the one they set on site.
We hold NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection license #2132-535-DCWP and Westchester County home improvement license #WC-39446-H20-25. County law requires a licensed contractor to display that number in advertising. Many do not. Both of ours are on every page of this site.
The schedule is set before demolition and the things that threaten it are named up front. When a date does move, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.
Dust containment goes up before demolition. The site is swept and cleared daily. Most of our clients stay in their homes through the project, and the job is planned around that.
One crew lead runs your project from demolition to final walk-through. Every trade, from plumbing to tile to finish carpentry, is coordinated through us, on our schedule, held to our quality standard. You never have to coordinate between separate companies.
Kadima Construction was founded in 2019 by Hector and Mario Bocel, who brought eight years of hands-on experience into the business.
Hector and Mario were true professionals, treating and respecting our home as if it were their own. Yes. Kadima Construction holds NYC DCWP license #2132-535-DCWP and Westchester County home improvement license #WC-39446-H20-25, and carries $1,000,000 in general liability insurance. Holding licenses in both jurisdictions matters because they are issued separately: a contractor licensed only in New York City is not licensed to perform home improvement work in the county, and the reverse is also true. You can verify any county-issued license through the Department of Consumer Protection.
We serve Queens, Westchester County, and the Bronx, working within roughly 60 miles north of our base in Elmhurst, Queens. That includes Rye, Harrison, Purchase, Larchmont, Pelham, White Plains, Scarsdale, New Rochelle, Bronxville, and surrounding areas. Yes, we handle permit filing for the work we perform, in both New York City and Westchester County. In New York City, most kitchen and bathroom renovations that do not change the structure or occupancy fall under a DOB Alteration Type 2 filing, where approval commonly takes about four to eight weeks after submission. To the north, municipalities issue their own building permits town by town, so requirements and timelines vary by location. We identify what your specific project needs during the estimate, before the schedule is set.
When it comes to the price of a bathroom, kitchen, or full remodel in NYC, costs vary depending on the design, size, and quality of materials used for the project. Here is a good index to see whether it is worth the investment: according to Remodeling's 2025 Cost vs. Value Report for NYC (referenced via JLC), a midrange 5x7 ft bathroom remodel averaging $30,376 returns 76.5%, while an upscale bathroom with a cost of $90,686 gets you 40.1% back when you sell your home.
